Non Twelve-step Resources

Moderation Management

This is an excellent program for people who have not "crossed the line" into addiction; this program is only for persons with moderate drinking problems.

Rational Recovery (RR)

This is a very good alternative to 12-step programs.  The personal independence that RR espouses is incredibly empowering.

Self Management And Recovery Training is an alternative to 12-step programs which is not related to Alcoholics Anonymous in any way.  They do not believe in the disease of addiction and do not label people as "alcoholics" or "addicts."  This is a common sense self-help approach to addiction.
